Prometheus by English director-producer Ridley Scott, starring Oscar-winning South African actress Charlize Theron, will partially be shot in Iceland and Theron will come to the country soon to participate in about a week-long shooting session.

The extent of the shooting will be similar as to when scenes from Lara Croft: Tomb Raider were shot at the Jökulsárlón glacial lagoon one decade ago; 350 employees will be involved in the project, Fréttabladid reports.

Among other actors who will be part of the shooting in Iceland is Australian Guy Pearce of Memento, L.A. Confidential and The King’s Speech, and it is assumed that Swedish actress Noomi Rapace, the star of the adaptation of Stieg Larsson’s Millennium Trilogy, will join the film’s cast as well.

Sam Breckman, Prometheus’s director of production, is currently working at Icelandic film production company True North’s offices to organize the shooting. Breckman worked with Chris Nolan on shooting scenes from Batman Begins at the foot of Svínafellsjökull, a sub-glacier of Vatnajökull, in 2005.

However, True North’s employees have not revealed any details about his latest project.
