MOVIE beauty Charlize Theron has thanked Ghostbusters star Sigourney Weaver for kicking open doors for action girls everywhere.
Monster star Charlize says she would never have gotten the opportunity to front big budget movies like her upcoming Alien prequel Prometheus had it not been for Sigourney.
“For any girl that ever saw Alien it was like, ‘Yeah, it’s time to dance!’ I do think that (director) Ridley Scott really was the first person who took full advantage of how you could explore not only that genre but themes that I think mostly men in cinema had been allowed to explore,” she said.
“And then Sigourney blazed a trail for all of us in those movies. She was a …

The new Mad Max film will no longer be shooting in the outback city of Broken Hill. Director George Miller has said that the landscape is too green for a Mad Max film.
The film’s crew and equipment are currently preparing to move to an overseas location most likely Namibia according to a report in the if.com.
Production on the film had already been delayed for 12 months while Miller waited for the landscape to dry out after Australia was flooded in 2010. The film had originally planned to shoot in Namibia as early as 2003 before the Iraq War made production impossible in the region.
The film was revived in October 2009 with New South Wales as …
A gripe of new photos have emerged from Ridley Scott’s anticipated sci-fi thriller Prometheus, featuring shots of both Noomi Rapace and Charlize Theron in their space gear. While grainy, and possibly from an upcoming teaser trailer, these latest images from Prometheus promise a strong nod towards Ridley Scott’s classic monster movie Alien. Check them out below.
Prometheus comes to theaters June 8th, 2012 and stars Noomi Rapace, Michael Fassbender, Charlize Theron, Idris Elba, Sean Harris, Kate Dickie, Logan Marshall-Green, Guy Pearce. The film is directed by Ridley Scott.

When Charlize Theron began her acting career, she never envisioned herself an action star, though that’s exactly what she’s been in such films as Aeon Flux and Hancock (between winning Academy Awards for more dramatic fare, of course). Interestingly, though, it is her Prometheus director Ridley Scott who inspired her to seek out roles of strength in the first place.
More specifically, Theron points to Sigourney Weaver’s portrayal of Ripley in Scott’s 1979 classic, Alien. Muses the actress, “I do think that Ridley Scott really was the first person who took full advantage of how you could explore not only that genre but themes that I think only men in cinema had been allowed to explore. …
