Charlize Central

Hello fellow Charlize fans. I’m Vanessa & I’m the new staff here the Charlize Central. I’m so excited that Stef chose me as a part of this great website. Now we can continue to get this website updated with the latest Charlize photos, news & more!

As you know from the site being on hiatus for the past few weeks, my personal life is incredibly hectic (in a good way) right now and I am having to cut back on my online time more and more. In order to help keep the site updated more frequently, I am currently looking for one or more staffer(s)/co-web(s) to help out here at Charlize Central. Permanent help is preferred, but temporary help would be great as well.

Knowledge of html, php, Coppermine and WordPress are a must. Knowledge of vShare would be helpful as well, but isn’t required.

Here is what I am currently looking for help with:

- Help sorting older event and photoshoot images. I’ve got close to 1000 new (older) photos that need to be incorporated into the site, but I just don’t have enough time to back fill with this stuff and keep current with all the new things.

- Help collecting new event and photoshoot images and adding them to the gallery.

- Help with news updates.

Serious applicants only please. I have a ton on my plate at the moment and I don’t mean for this to sound rude, but I simply don’t have time to deal with flighty or untrustworthy people at this point in time. As much as I hate to do this, I have to put the site on hiatus for a bit. My personal life is beyond hectic right now and I need to take a step back and just focus on real life for a while. This may only be for a few weeks, but it could turn into a 1-2 months. If it will be any longer than 1-2 months, I will post with another update at that time.

Please note that everything is still open for you to browse and I am still available by email if anyone needs me.

UPDATE 9/18/08: The site is still on hiatus, but I have updated the gallery with a bunch of new goodies, so be sure and check out all the new additions.

As you can all see, I’ve put up a stunning new layout created by Jess of GotMedia?. I’m totally in love with it and hope you guys will enjoy it as well.  The gallery was also updated with a shiny new design last week, which was created by Eny of Innuendo Designs and I hope you all like that new look as well.

Hello all! I have a lovely little treat for you today. A brand new streaming video archive courtesy of my lovely host, The Fan Sites Network. Please note that it is to be considered beta for now, just until they can see how how the streaming media service will affect servers, etc. and how well the scripts the various sites using this new service will work. So far the one I’m using is working very well and I hope you will all enjoy the new videos that I’ve posted there. Among the new videos available for viewing are Charlize’s recent appearances on “Oprah,” “Regis and Kelly” and “Good Morning America,” just to name a few.

I’d love to hear feedback about this new feature, so feel free and post comments below or email me directly with any comments you may have. Thanks in advance and enjoy the new vids.

Welcome to version 3 of charlize-central.com. This gorgeous new design was created by the lovely and talented Dora of Trancefixion Designs and I hope you will all enjoy it as much as I do. Please note that the film pages are currently offline as they are still in the process of being revamped, but will be back online soon. I would also like to thank Mycah for the lovely WordPress theme. I’d be so lost without her help.

If you’re wondering who I am – I am Tona. Stef and I decided to merge charlizefan.org and Charlize Central to one big fansite. A new layout for the site will complete it in a few days. I run iheartanna.org and nora-z.com.
I’ve updated the gallery with a few pictures and more will follow soon.

As you may have noticed, the gallery is now back online with a shiny new layout made by Mycah. Isn’t it so pretty? Quite a few new photoshoots have been added, the film section has been cleaned up a bit and the sections have been broken down a bit more for easier viewing of cover art, stills, etc. I tried to make sure that all dead links were removed, as well as broken images, etc. However, if you happen upon anything that I may have missed, please let me know and I’ll fix it.

The one thing you will all likely find disappointing about the clean up is that all of the candids (except for “on set” photos from films, tv, etc.) have been removed. I have always felt guilty about having them in the gallery because Charlize and Stuart really dislike the paparazzi and having their privacy invaded, but I continued to post them because everyone enjoys candids. My decision to remove them came when the couple was stalked by the paparazzi on their vacation in Belize. Yes, I’m guilty of posting the link over to JustJared for everyone to check out, but the link has since been removed and no more candids of them out and about will be posted here because I don’t wish to disrespect them in that way. I truly admire them both and don’t want to be a party to the continued invasion of their private lives. I hope you will all understand and respect this decision.

As you can see, I’ve added a new layout created by the wonderfully talented Jess of GotMedia?. I hope you guys will enjoy it as much as I do.

I’m still working on updating more content as well as new videos and images, so keep your eyes peeled for new additions over the coming weeks.

EDIT: I’m currently working on trying to fix the problem with the page shifting off to the side whenever you click on any of the “categories” or “archive” but so far I haven’t been able to adjust it properly. You can still see all of the information when you read any of those sections, it just looks really wonky at the moment. Hopefully everything will be sorted out within the next day or two. Problem solved thanks to Mycah.
