A galaxy of stars descended at the Green Cross Millennium Awards to demonstrate their support for renewable energy sources.
According to Hello, the special environmental awards banquet saw celebrities such as Pierce Brosnan and Charlize Theron.
Former Russian president Mikhail Gorbachev, also the founder of Green Cross International was honoured for his continuing efforts to protect the planet.

The annual ceremony recognises the personalities and organisations that have worked hardest to create a more eco-friendly world. Last year’s winner Leonardo DiCaprio was there too, overcoming his well-known distaste for the press to sign a “Pledge Of Allegiance To American Energy Independence” in front of a horde of snappers. The Green Cross hopes that the document will convince Congress to tackle the US dependence on fossil fuels.

The stars also made a promise to use fuel efficient cars in the future, with the likes of Charlize Theron, Marcia Gay Harden, Tim Robbins, Sting and Robin Williams already having taken the pledge.
