Click here to view a recent interview with Charlize and Will about their new film ‘Hancock.’
Charlize is currently featured in the July 2008 issue of FILMINK. Thanks to Rhiannon at FILMINK for letting me know about this and for contributing copies of the article and photos to the site.
JustJared has posted some beautiful photos of Charlize, Will Smith and Jason Bateman from last night’s ‘Hancock’ premiere in Paris, France. Unfortunately I can’t add the HQs I’ve collected to the gallery just yet because my laptop decided to have hard drive failure over the weekend and I don’t have it back from the shop yet. I’ll be adding them just as soon as I get my laptop back though. Until then, check out the new photos here at JustJared.
In 2003 Charlize Theron, 33, won an Oscar for her role in the film Monster. A versatile actress, she has starred in films as diverse The Life and Death of Peter Sellers to The Italian Job. Her own life has also been packed with drama – aged 15 while living in South Africa she witnessed her mother shoot her father dead in self-defence against his domestic violence. She now lives with Irish actor and boyfriend, Stuart Townsend, in Los Angeles.
What were your dreams as a child?
I wanted to be a ballet dancer. Life was simple for me in South Africa – I believed I was going to live in the same house until the day I died and I only spoke Afrikaans. I still speak Afrikaans today with Mum. I started going to ballet classes at the age of four and I learned a little English from my ballet teacher who had worked at the Royal Academy in London. I had a very active imagination as a child and I loved putting on make-up, costumes and playing characters or telling a story. Unfortunately I suffered a knee injury when I was 18 living in New York and the dancing stopped. I had been a flamenco dancer, too, but all of a sudden I could no longer do the things that had been open to me most of my life. I used to go to the New York City ballet by myself and cry. I still carry sorrow about it.

I just found out today that Charlize is featured in the July 2008 issue of the UK edition of GQ magazine in a ridiculously hot new photoshoot. I happened upon scans while I was looking around for more information and have added them to the gallery. If any of you have a copy of the magazine and can donate scans of the accompanying article, I’d be super grateful. I’ll be purchasing a copy for my own collection at some point too, so I’ll eventually have scans of the article available one way or the other.
Edit: I found a new set of scans that includes the article and the gallery has been updated with the new set.
I’ve just updated the streaming video archive with even more new videos and have shifted all of the commercials over as well. We now have 141 videos available for viewing and more will be added within the next week or so. I hope you’re all enjoying the new additions.
Scans of Charlize’s feature in the July 2008 issue of Glamour have been added to the gallery. Enjoy!
I’ll have scans available as soon as the magazine hits stores in my area. Until then, here is the interview from Glamour.com. Happy reading!

Hey, it’s Charlize!
She’s smart, opinionated and suffers no fools.flip the page to learn how she turned a tough childhood into the happiest life in Hollywood.
When people in the movie business talk about Charlize Theron, they use a lot of predictable descriptions. Beautiful, of course. Sexy, ditto. Bombshell? Yeah, yeah. But those who actually have had conversations with the woman will use adjectives you probably wouldn’t expect. “Fiercely intelligent,” for one. “Gloriously opinionated,” for another. And how about this: She’s an actress who, in the words of one high-powered film agent, “refuses to be shallow, on-screen or off.” Maybe that’s because Theron, who grew up in South Africa under apartheid, was exposed to intense, thought-provoking experiences at a young age: As a teenager she was present as her mother, Gerda, shot and killed Charlize’s drunken and reportedly abusive father, Charles. (Her mother, who remains very close to Charlize, was never charged; authorities ruled that she acted in self-defense.) When Theron left her home at 16 to model in Milan, she was told she could become one of the world’s top models if she just lost five pounds. But modeling was never her passion, so it was off to New York, where she pursued dance at the Joffrey Ballet School but had to quit when her knees failed. Next up, Los Angeles–and this is where the fairy tale kicks in: Theron, who’d never acted, lived in a cheap hotel, stole rolls from bread baskets and was discovered by a talent manager while she was cashing a check at a bank. Soon she was being offered what critics might call “babe roles,”and she took some, in 2 Days in the Valley and Devil’s Advocate. But Theron craved more substantial parts, so she gained 30 pounds to play a serial killer in Monster, the role that won her the 2003 Best Actress Oscar.

As many of you probably already spotted, I added some new photos of Charlize, looking phenomenal as always, from last night’s MTV Movie Awards to the gallery last night and have just added even more, so be sure and check out the new additions here. Enjoy!
The MTV Movie Awards are all about honoring the biggest films in the world, so it’s only fitting that this year’s ceremony will be ushered in by two of Hollywood’s very biggest stars.
Will Smith will join previously announced presenters Will Ferrell, Sarah Jessica Parker, Lindsay Lohan, Steve Carell, Robert Downey Jr., Seth Rogen and more at the 17th annual MTV Movie Awards, broadcast live this year from the Gibson Amphitheatre on Sunday at 8 p.m. ET. Smith’s “Hancock” co-star, Charlize Theron, will also be handing out a Golden Popcorn.
Cruise, long a program mainstay, was the first-ever winner of MTV’s Generation Award, given to the performer who has most captured the attention of MTV’s audience throughout his or her career. This year’s Generation Award recipient is Adam Sandler (who recently launched MTV’s Sneak Peek Week with a screening of “You Don’t Mess With the Zohan”).
Also joining the fun are Rainn Wilson, Anna Faris, Katharine McPhee, Megan Fox, Brendan Fraser, Danny McBride, Liv Tyler, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Jennifer Hudson, who will present awards to a talented group of nominees, led this year by “Superbad,” “Juno,” “Transformers,” “Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End” and “Enchanted.”
The MTV Movie Awards will be hosted for the second time by comedian Mike Myers and will include live musical performances from Coldplay and the Pussycat Dolls.
